Join us for a reception and conversation about sports, race, and society hosted by The Museum of African American History and Northeastern’s Center for Sports in Society. The panel discussion and book signing features members of the legendary Syracuse 8, focusing on David Marc’s book Leveling the Playing Field: The Story of the Syracuse 8.

Bostonians and SU alumni Dana Harrell and A. Alif Muhammad will be joined by other members of the group to discuss their controversial stance at the University, as they petitioned for racial equality for their 1969-70 football team. Dan Lebowitz, executive director at the Center for the Study of Sport in Society at Northeastern University, will moderate the discussion.
