SU community reacts to explosions at Boston Marathon

Syracuse University has many connections to Boston and the greater New England area, and our thoughts are with all those affected by the explosions that occurred yesterday afternoon at the Boston Marathon.  

“When an intentional act of violence such as this happens, we rightly feel a wide range of emotions—fear, sadness, anger or helplessness. As we always do, we come together as a University community to provide comfort and support to each other,” says SU Chancellor and President Nancy Cantor in a message to students, faculty, and staff.

In addition to many SU alumni who participated in the race, at least 10 current SU faculty, staff, and students ran in the marathon. The Daily Orange has compiled a list of those confirmed safe. Additional news coverage and reactions from SU students and alumni who were in Boston can be found at
